Do I need a permit to use a metal detector on Florida beaches?

Metal-detecting IS permitted on the beaches, and no permit is required.

As always, stay off of the dunes and follow the code of ethics.

However, no holes deeper than one foot and, remember to always, FILL IN YOUR HOLES!

I’ve never had any problems on Clearwater Beach with permitting while Metal Detecting, and local Law Enforcement isn’t aware of any such ordinance.
